"The Magical Touch of Thank You Notes" by Z.
A few weeks ago, I received the cutest card in the mail (shown in the picture) from one of my very good friends, Meghann. It was a handwritten note from her, saying “Thank You” for organizing her surprise birthday dinner party.
Next time when you receive a gift (birthday, bridal shower, baby shower, or you name it!) or when you are the recipient of a good deed, make sure to return that special feeling with a thank you note.
Try it, and I guarantee you'll be amazed by the results.
When I was putting together her party, I had no expectations to receive anything back from her, other than seeing her happy with all of her close friends. She is a very dear friend to me and I wanted to do something special for her.
When I received her thank you note, she made me feel so special and put a huge smile on my face! :)
For many of us, saying “Thank You” after receiving a gift, or getting help from someone who has gone out of his/her way for us, might seem enough to show our appreciation. However, I guess we all just underestimate the power of the tiniest personal touch such as a thank you note until we receive one.
I believe that no matter how busy we are, composing a few lines on a card and dropping it in the mail is a very magical and personal touch of saying “Thank You” which shows good manners.
How do you write a good thank you note?
A thank you note is a very special way to express our gratitude to someone. It is very personal and very memorable. Therefore, to me, there is no specific guideline to write a thank you note other than expressing ourselves with the words that are truly and sincerely coming from our hearts to show our genuine appreciation…even if it is in just a few lines.
I also think that sending a handwritten thank you note is thousands times better and more special than a typewritten one.
If you really want to turn writing thank you notes into a habit of yours, I would recommend ordering personalized name and address stamps.
